Yes, the bug is still in 1.6, however, the 1.7 release takes care of the 
problem automatically based on the database system your running.  I just 
started working on the database verify script and will hopefully commit it 
tomorrow night.  

The script will go thru and check the integrity of a number of things in the 
database and allow you to choose whether to automatically fix most errors 
(mostly by re-linking to the root of the tree) or just print what is wrong.
